Amako Haruhisa was born in 1513.
Grandson of Tsunehisa, fought Yoshitaka Ouchi, powerful lord in San-yo (Okayama, Hiroshima and Yama-Ctchi Prefectures) for supremacy over western Japan. Later, when Motonari Mori attempted to rule central Japan by ousting Ouchi. Haruhisa fought him, too. After Motonari invaded Izumo (Shimane Prefecture) and Haruhisa died in 1560, the Amakos began to decline. Yoshihisa, his son. who succeeded him surrendered to Motonari when besieged by his forces in Tsukiyama Castle. Yoshihisa’s loyal retainer, Shikanosuke Yamanaka, and other faithful followers of the Amakos made an unsuccessful attempt to restore the family in power, with Katsuhisa, cousin of Harumsa, as their head.
