Andrei Petrovich Polyushenko was a Soviet artist, laureate of the RSFSR State Prize named after I.Ye.Repin (1978), People's Artist of the RSFSR (1981). He worked mainly in the genre of landscape.
Solo exhibitions of his works took place in Moscow in 1963, 1974, 1978; in Gorky in 1975; in Yaroslavl in 1976; in Mytishchi in 2004. His works of art are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum.

Andrei Petrovich Polyushenko was born on October 01, 1911, in Boguchar, Bogucharsky district, Voronezh region, Russian Federation in a peasant family. He spent his childhood during the civil war. Having fled from starvation to the Kuban, his family settled at the Tikhoretskaya station. In 1923, his family moved to Nizhny Novgorod.
Education
From 1924 to 1929, Andrei Petrovich Polyushenko studied at the Art School of Sergey Sokolov in Nizhny Novgorod.
Career
Andrei Petrovich Polyushenko started as an artist in the "Nizhny Novgorod commune" newspaper. In 1932, he made satirical works for the newspaper of the Gorky Automobile Plant "AutoGigant". In 1935, he participated in regional, zonal (area-based), republican, all-Union, foreign exhibitions. In 1939, he painted the landscape. In 1942, he painted "Revival". In 1949, he moved to Mytishchi. In 1954, he painted "Tselina", in 1974 - "Winter", in 1980 - "Song of the Volga".
