George Alekseevich Karaichev worked as a physics teacher in secondary schools in village Bolshiy Bazy, Olkhovatka village.He did komsomol, political work. In 1964-1975, he worked as the 2nd secretary of the district committee of the CPSU. Deputy Director of Olhovatsky sugar factory from 1975 to 1985. Until the end of his life he was engaged in local history. He collected a lot of material on the history of the surrounding villages and the local sugar factory.
Written by Karaichev together with the teacher M.I. Golovanev's historical essay "From Old Ages to the Present Day" formed the basis of the collection "Olkhovatka - Voronezh Region" (Olhovatka, 2000).
