Member of Academic Senate. President and Gold Medallist, University Philosophical Society. Professor of English Literature at Alexandra College, 1877-1880.
Afterwards an Examiner to the Board of Intermediate Education. Has been Taylorian Examiner at Oxford. Was long Vice-Chairman of the Irish Literary Society. Author and Lecturer.
