Teacher at the Borisoglebsk Music College (since 1983). Creator and artistic director of the Chamber Choir (since 1990) - winner of the regional festival-contest "Bright Joy of the Soul" (1998-2000), diploma winner of the Interregional Competition of Russian Sacred Music (Ryazan, 2002). In the choir's repertoire are compositions of Russian and Western composers. Choir went on tour to Germany (1996). Since 1995, Vershkov directed the city's music studio, which received the title of "People's Collective" (1996); in different years more than 15 soloists of the studio won at regional, all-Russian and international competitions. The author of the anthem of Borisoglebsk created for the 300th anniversary of the city (1998).
