Takeo Matsumura

Background

Takeo was born in 1883, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.

Education

After graduating from Tokyo University in 1910 he took a postgraduate course in ancient history and mythology.

Career

Was conferred a doctorate, Litt.D., for his thesis on Greek mythology in 1921 and the following year was appointed professor at Urawa Higher School and instructor at his alma mater. Made further research in Europe from 1923 till 1925.
