Background

Takeyoshi Kikuchi was born in 1336. Original personal name: Shichiro. He was the seventh son of Taketoki.

Career

After the Imperial Army was defeated at the Battle of Minatogawa, his brother, Takeshige, ordered him to return home and report the defeat to the Emperor. It is said Takeyoshi refused to do this and committed suicide rather than be the messenger of such news.
