Musagayev Talgat Amangeldievich was born on the 7 of January in 1951, in village Kargaly, Dzhambul district, Alma-Ata region, Kazakh SSR (now Kargaly, Almaty, Kazakhstan).
In 1968 Talgat finished 10 forms of secondary school № 58 in Alma-Ata and then continued his education in Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers named after Leninist Komsomol on the specialty of technical operation of aviation radio equipment. And finished his education in 1993, when received a diploma of a pilot engineer.
On the 20th of July in 2000 awarded the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. The topic of the dissertation is "Assessment of reliability and efficiency of the Crew-PKA-PMU system". He protected it in the RGNII CPC named after Yu.A. Gagarin.
Musagayev Talgat's growing interest in cosmonautics lead him to become a pilot-cosmonaut. Talgat was an instructor in 1976 and then in 1978 was a senior instructor of the department of political and educational work of the Kazakh Civil Aviation Administration.
