Lived in Voronezh since 1930.

Gudoshnikov has been the dean of philology department at Voronezh State University twice, in 1962-1966 and 1970-1973. He is also known for heading students’ folklore expeditions across Voronezh and Tambov Oblasts.

As a poet, his works were being published in "Literary Voronezh" almanac since 1948. He wrote around 100 researches including monographies.
