Yasusuke Komiyama was educated by his father, Huken.
Career
Yasusuke Komiyama was a teacher at his clan school and at the same time began compiling a history of Japan. Later he became interested in military affairs, and being suspected of hatching a political plot was ordered to be placed under house arrest in 1868. After release and proceeding to Tokyo Yasusuke Komiyama began writing a geography book and took part in city planning. Retiring from Government service in 1880 he devoted all his time to writing a history of Tokyo University and the compilation of an encyclopedia.
