Career
Served in various ministries of the government after 1873. In 1897 was appointed professor at the First Higher School and commissioner of the Imperial Household Ministry's Poetry Bureau. Admired the style of Tomonori Hatta's waka and also composed poems of new styles introduced in the Meiji Era.
