Kaichi Matsuura

Background

Kaichi was born in 1891, in Nagoya City, Japan.

Education

Studied privately under Soseki Natsume, famous novelist.

Career

Retired in 1951. After that served as professor of Ochanomizu Women’s College and instructor of Aoyama Gakuin College.

From 1936 to 1938, studied abroad and returned to Japan after traveling to England and America.

Received a doctorate for the study of the poet John Donne.
